  • The Pashtuns are descendents of a lost Jewish tribe who went through Persia (Today Iran), where they picked the ancient game of Polo. The game was invented in Persia well before Christ. So they adopted it and took it with them to their new lands in the east - and kept it alive to modern time, but the original game was Persian.

  • @manithoi Polo is actually a pushtun sport and pushtuns live in afghanistan and Pakistan. so the sport is native to that region not India. Stop being such a typical jealous indian twit. cheers choora.

  • @manithoi A jealous Indian twisting facts.

  • BBC you are terribly misinformed...the modern game of polo originated from a place in the current north east part of india...the world's oldest pologround lies there and the dimensions of today's standard pologround is the actual size of that polo field...these things are well documented in guinness book of world records..for a brief preview check the polo page in wikipedia

  • Polo is my Game and i am from Northern areas of pakistan we had about many many polo grounds in the villages but now a days there are some left as the people have sell their horses and the land is gone by some natural phenomena so there are some grounds left now the Gilgit and Chitral have teams who play the original game of polo with no helmets and other stuff so they play it like old times and some times people get hurt and the horses get wild ,traditional music is played.

  • Here is a voice in us which is ever present

    Rumi writes

Do you Think what I'am doing .

That for a moment ,or even half a moment,

I know what verses will come from my mouth?

I am no more than a pen in a writers hand,

No more than a Ball smacked around by a Polo Stick!

I could not find Better words,,,

As per the Chitral people are concerned watching them play Polo and being mesmerised by the movement of Horses the free gallop of an amazing Horse is very much appriciated By the crowd ,
