I don't think you every really stop growing them. Your kids have a 50/50 chance of getting nf from you. I have 3 kids 2 have it the other doesn't. add me as a friend and we could talk privitely if you would like

NaughtyGurl, I don't think the tumors will ever stop growing. I'm 28 and have noticed that things have gotten worse for me as far as tumors go in the past 8 years. Sorry to be such a downer.

I also Have NF1. not to bad i'm age 19 and have tiny cafe latte spots on my legs and chest. I do not have a lot of tumors that are visable. Im just wondering at wut age do you stop fully growing tumors? does your body ever stop growing them?? When i want to have kids is there any way i can prevent them from getting the disorder?
Will there every be a cure for it??

@MzNaughtyGurl there is no way of knowing when or if the tumors will stop growing, it's different for each person. We, at the Children's Tumor Foundation fund research for treatments and a cure. Hopefully by the time you decide to have children we'll at least have treatments for the manifestations of NF. Although your child would also have a 50% chance of not having the disorder, this is something you will/would need to talk with your doctor about to decide what's best for you.
