Sonic and the Secret Rings - Night Palace Mission 1 (Go for the Goal) - 1:56.55

At the time of upload (2/13/09), this is the real time world record for this stage. Using tricks involving death (which restart the timer yet not the soul gauge), the record is 1:48.60 held by me.

In reality, Night Palace 1 is suprisingly unoptomized. With a good run, I should be able to get sub 1:50 with death abuse, and sub 1:53 real time. However, that trick at the start is so crazy, I just play the ending safe for a decent 1:56. If you were going for all out speed, don't use air dashs in gate 2 part 1 or gate 3 part 1. Also, don't screw up the final hourglass like I did :).

The last set of rubble near the very end is impossible to run through like the previous two, so me going slow there isn't a mistake.

As I said in one of my other videos, the starting trick was discovered by me and is my absolute favorite trick in the game. You really have to get a feel for it to be able to perform it, as the angle and method are hard to describe.

This is the most updated list of my top times. Many (NP1, LR8, and others come to mind) may not seem possible, but trust me, these all are.

It works, but it just brings you to a blank room. All the portals and the goal are missing.

It took me nearly a month to beat erazor under level twenty-five. Any way you can help me get silver on all? Although I do have gold & silvers for most of the missions.. the tough ones I have problems with are the ring chains, perfect, diehard (not all), and No pearls.

It is impossible to be screwed out of anything in Sonic and the Secret Rings. You can always beat the game 100% (though it may take a second file to beat Erazor under level 25).
