Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People, is a documentary created by author Dr. Jack Shaheen. The film explores how Arab and Muslim stereotyping has been projected on silver screens throughout the history of cinema. But is the demonisation of Arab peoples really comparable to the vilification of the Jews in the 1930's? Does combating misrepresentation change anything if the occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan are not in question? Filmed at The Screens of Terror Conference at London South Bank University, this report includes clips from Dr Shaheen's fascinating work.

Well ask their parents, who send the kids to stand beside the rocket shooters so that when IDF shoots back, the strays hit the kids and Israel looks bad.. There are pictures of these 'rocket throwers' IN BATTLE position surrounded by innocent kids.. Pathetic culture

I am sorry I missed attending this discussion it looks very useful. Just out of interest, those who oppose Female Genitle Mutilation and I am one of them, what do they think of male circumcision of babys that takes place in the west without a whisper?

Please know your fact :Female circumcision is an African tradition, it is prevelant in upper Egypt and Sudan only (Christians and Muslims)

Saudi Arabia (I agree) but it is the US's most faithful ally and the US has a great deal of leverage on ti and on the Gulf states - They do as they are told, like buy expensive US weapons and store them until they rust every couple of years in order to support the US economy- why US not tell these regimes to allow their ciitzens freedom? :-(

However, all this is not the fault of "Arabs" as a race. It is possible to acknowledge the middle East's serious problems with political and religious extremism without demonizing an entire people

The Aladdin scene as proof of intolerance is hypocritical as arms are STILL being cut off for stealing in Saudi Arabia (an Arab Muslim country).

Human rights abuses against women in Arab Muslim countries are beyond the pale.
