actually, it's called the self-fulfilling prophecy. placebo effect is when you're told you are receiving a medicine, when in actuality, it's just a sugar pill. you believe it will work, and so your brain releases endorphines that make you feel better. self-fulfilling prophecy is when you are told you are something, and as a result, people treat you as if your label defines who you are, and as a result, you end up becoming what others have labeled you as.

The only -obvious- "gender hygiene" difference is that MOST women have an extraneous belonging that comes into contact with bathroom floors (aka purse), while men do not.
