  • I guess this film just tries to reflect upon how society has changed in large parts of the world, also in the Nordic region. The younger generations had to leave the family -farm/houses/land to make their living. Farmlands aren't able to give the revenue needed to make it in the society. But still, it's where we come from. We feel it, "this land is our land" as someone chanted. And for many, it was the lifestyle and land that has been their effort to us. A way of life worth dying with, I feel.

  • @Zaturnity Kjartan Sveinsson made the score (:

  • Beautifully filmed and poignantly told...

  • Painful and Beautiful. Brilliant violin score...

  • I really liked the idea and edition of the video specially the music and the landscape, besides the beutiful story.. can someone suggest me more short films of this kind?

  • @Lumpiluk I really dont want to argue with anyone but I believe you missed the whole point of the movie. I recomend you to be a bit less rational and try to apreciate the love between the old couple. that s what the story is about.

  • In some way beautiful, but I have to admit I cannot really like the moral. One would have to be extremely certain that one will definitely never be happy again within the next years, which is very unlikely, to kill oneself. I would also say it's kind of irrational believing they could be together again when they're dead. It seems rather risky wasting those years when probably nothing will happen after death. But even if it was true, why not wait the next few years if you'll have eternity anyway?

  • An endearing film about ithe strong will of ndependence and the desire to retain it. One could argue that it's about love but I think that's too obvious. After a life of hardship & isolation the thought of losing ones independence and 'being looked after' must have been out of the question for Gróa. Was this filmed using a Canon 5D MkII? Nicely shot & edited, the mild blue toning added to the sense of the cold and unforgiving nature of the story and landscape.
