I'd have tried recruiting Ironhide myself. But I don't think that would have made for a good episode. Don't mind me. Until we get to the awesome Season 3, Ironhide, Jazz, and Sideswipe are the only Autobots I actually liked. Although I wasn't in a hurry to get the Ironhide toy because well... you've seen the G1 toy. Need I say more?

I think I know why they were raiding a gold mine in the beginning. I remember watching season 2 as a kid, and well, Megatron has to fund all of his temporary bases somehow, and he didn't have a movie deal or NFL contract back then

I'm genuinely sad that such an episode does not exist. It would have been very amusing.

and the gas thing is THIS is the episode they decide to draw inspiration for the last films big maguffin from. :)

I totally think Larry Parr's favorite character was Gears, and he was pissed that he wasn't getting enough screen time.

As I recall, Gears has incredible strength and endurance and the ability to jump up to twenty miles in the air.
Not that they actually /used/ any of those abilities in this episode, though...

It's like something you did as a 10 year old kid?
um, you ARE aware that the program was created to sell toys to ten year olds, right? Of course it isn't as well written as Masterpiece Theatre. It was never created to be. Youre applying adult sensibilities somewhere it. If you bought Gears because of this ep, then the show did it's job. Last thing a child watches TV for is riveting plot and character development.
It's like criticizing a rubber ball for not being as high tech as a PS3.

That's an excellent point. If I start applying adult sensibilities to this show, it might create some kind of... I don't know, jokes. Can't have that.
