The White Dawn (Paramount/1974) music composed by Henry Mancini. One of Mancini's best scores which sadly never got a commercial release. However Mancini did arrange a symphonic suite which he recorded for the vinyl LP "A Concert of Film Music" released in 1976 using the cues "Seal Hunt", "The Lovers", "Horn Pipe' "The White Dawn Theme" and "Arctic Whale Hunt". Hope you guys enjoy.
THANK YOU THANK YOU! I was able to find the movie a few years back, but continually looked for this on a CD. I first heard this played by the 1977 George Rogers Clark High School Marching Band (video of this performance is also on You Tube). It stuck with me then and to this day almost 35 years later. Check out GRC's performance. You will understand why I fell in love.

It was absolutely great to hear this again (and again, and again). It took me right back to the 70's. Henry Mancini will always be one of the greatest soundtrack composer in my book! (and trust me, I sure have a lot of books). Niawen!

I heard this music before I ever saw the movie in the late '70s. I always thought it was about a medieval story about knights and damsels and castles (7:38). The ending (9:20) always made me think of a great battle during the Crusades and even now, if I had the ability or the time, I would try to write a movie script about the Middle Ages using this music as its main theme. An All-Time Great!!!

Thanks so much for this -- my LP is very worn. This ends with my favorite crescendo.
