That's actually its long, butcher-knife jaws that it uses to puncture the trapped prey and inject it with saliva that begins liquifying it from the inside. It then goes and eats its own post-expulsion slime while letting the prey dissolve into a mushy soup.

...I guess it's a good thing this video cut off where it did.
