Update 26/01 2012:
We did it, we killed S.O.P.A and P.I.P.A.
But the war does not end here.
If you value your privacy, help us kill off ACTA as well!

I do not mind piracy being illegal as some artists worked really hard on the products that are basically stolen.
What I do mind is that in order to fight this, some governing body believes it is okay to monitor my every move online. It's only little better than shoving a camera in my face everywhere I go.
If you feel the same, PLEASE sign petitions and make your voice heard!
Here is a link for a rather large petition that you can sign. I urge you to find more via Google.

Update 21/5 2011:
Seriously!
Any further racist comments will be reported, and I will remove them from my video.
I will not tolerate racism on my videos.

Update 28/5 2010:
Okay, since a lot of you are asking:
The pieces of eight are NOT actual pieces of eight.
A piece of eight is the Spanish silver dollar from that period(or so I have been told.)
The actual pieces of eight that the pirate lords carried were pieces of trash that they happened to have in their pockets.
As Mr. Gibbs says it: "Nine pieces of whatever-we-happened-to-have-in-our-pockets-at-the-time. Not very piratey now, is it?" or something along those lines.
The original plan was to use pieces of eight, but the original pirate lords were broke. Also, using trash keeps them from using the piece of eight out of greed.
The lyrics are further down in the description.
The kid does not have braces. It has been discussed in the comment, and there is a proper historical reason for it.
The gallows used for this are actually misplaced by a century or so, but this does look much cooler.
The kid is NOT William Turner Jr.'s kid, that is simply impossible. His kid isn't borne until after the main events of this movie, including this kid's hanging and Beckett's death.

Now, by popular request:
The name of this song is Hoist the Colours.
The lyrics can be found here:

Update 5/5 2009:
No, I cannot send the song, the video or anything like that.
I uploaded the video where Elizabeth sings, too, so feel free to check that out too.
Thanks again for viewing! :)

This is the song started by the boy and joined by the rest of the pirates sentanced to hanging.

****WARNING!!! SPOILER ALERT!!!*****

I think this song might refer to the pirate "king and his men"(original brethren court) capturing "the queen"(Calypso) and binding her "in her bones"(her human form).
As Captain Barbossa says later: "This is where the original Brethren Court captured Calypso and bound her in her bones." (something along those lines but the words "bound her in her bones" were definately used)
"The seas be ours" as in giving over the seas to mans control now that Calypso was caught in the flesh and couldn't rule anymore. Interresting, eh?

  • this should be the anonymous theme agianst SOPA

  • @marie90 SOPA is gone now though, but you should go look for ACTA and fight that as well =)

  • That kid clearly has braces when he smiles at the end. I dont know how the description can claim otherwise. Pause the DVD on a decent sized screen and its as obvious as daylight.

  • @trulynot Well, at least you read the description, that makes me happy.

As for the question of bracers versus no bracers, I actually don't know, and the quality of this clip is too low to see it for sure. I just remember adding the comment you made when someone made a solid point with some historical facts behind it. I can't recall it now though, it is more than a year ago, possibly even more than two.

  • RIP Megaupload and Filesonic

  • I love the meaning of the song "No matter how much power you have and how many of us you'll kill, there will always be more" sort of like our memory will never die.
