NOTICE : I couldn't transfer directly the film into my PC ; the VHS I bought came to a country where system is NTSC, so the movie was black & white when I tried direct capture. As I really wanted to keep colours, I took my camcorder and film the movie being on the TV, then transfered the movie from my camcorder to the PC. My camcorder couldn't save a great quality as a direct capture could do, but I think the quality is still honest, and at least you have colours ! About the audio, I took the sound of the direct capture, then put it on the video taped with camcorder. So at least, you'll have a perfect sound with the video. ;-)

About the story : The Camel Boy is a movie realized by Yoram Gross, creator of Dot and the Kangaroo, in 1984. As Dot's movies, this film is a combination of animation and live-action.

The story is based on the actual journeys of explorers at the beginning of the 20th Century. It begins with a young boy named Ali and his grandfather ; they travel to Australia to help a group of explorers for an expedition across the Great Victoria desert. They'll experience a lot of events during this expedition, often bad, sometimes good...

This movie is in the tradition of Dot's movies. If you like Dot, you'll like The Camel Boy. If you know none of them, give them a go ; emotion is the main feeling in these movies !

It was really by chance I heard about this movie, 4 months ago. As I love Dot's movies, I couldn't resist and obtained the VHS pretty quickly. And I don't regret it...

All my thanks go to Ashlee, who allows me to discover The Camel Boy. I uploaded the movie here to share it with another people, but it's also a tribute to you ! ;-)

  • who is singing?

  • @TheRodan84 : Robyn Moore. I don't know if it's Mel Gibson's former wife !

  • Oh my god, thanks so much for uploading this! This the only place I could find this on the internet!

  • @djchozen91 : you're welcome. ;-) That's why I uploaded it cos, contrary to Dot where all the movies are already on Youtube, there were nothing about The Camel Boy. :-) About the direct capture, when I try it for the moment, it's without colors, so I prefered this way. But if one day I have the stuff for it, of course I'll upload the movie again ! Except if someone else already did it before. ^^

  • n_n I really like the description :D

    Thanks KartSeven!!!

  • This is a 1984 Yoram Gross movie

  • @thalasseusbergii I love 'this' song, but I have a problem... "If the jube doesn't get them then the sand flies must!" If I caught the words right, they make no sense, seeing as (by my understanding) a jube is a piece of candy. XD :P

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!! Bringing back a whole load of childhood memories!

  • I LOVE YOU for posting this. I have just listened to the theme song 5 times. One of my favourite films as a child, and so very Australian. You have made my night. Thanks you, thank you!!!

  • Wow!!!! I always loved this movie! Now I can show my husband so he won't think I am a quack...lol

  • @Micklinehan The lyrics were written for the movie, but it uses the tune to the rather old song 'click go the shears'.

  • Holy crap! I haven't seen this movie in 20 years! My sister and I used to watch this all the time.

  • I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS FOR AGEEESSSS. OMFG THANK YOU!!! XD one of my fav kid movies :) though I'm used to the Swedish dubbed version LOL :P

  • I just remembered why the song sounds like an old aussie song - it uses the melody from 'click go the shears'

  • Used to watch this all the time as a kid, great movie, and great (if not sad sounding) soundtrack. Thanks for uploading. The opening and ending song - is it an actual old Aussie song? Or was it written for this movie?
