The Chairgun Program is a powerful tool for airgunners, as well as powder burners. It is free from Hawke Optics, and is as much a part of my arsenal as the scope itself. The software is designed to compliment Hawke reticles. But a Hawke scope is not needed to use the program; many generic reticles are included in the menu. Hawke continuously updates and improves this software. At the time this video was made, the software version was 1.0.5a.

You can download Chairgun from Hawke Optics' website:
http://www.hawkeoptics.com/us/chairgun/index.php

If Chairgun doesn't work for you, try the "Simple Trajectory Program" available at this site:

  • @EdgunUSA Hello great video. I want to buy a scope for my aa s510 xf .22.

My uncle is a hunter and I looked trough his swarovski and zeiss scopes and I was really impressed, very clear optics. But my budget is a bit lower, so I was wondering how clear your hawk scope is compered to the swarovski/ zeiss? Thank you so much!! joop226

  • @joop226 The Hawke is certainly not on par with the optics of those scopes. It had better not be, it costs 1/5 as much. But, for the money, the optics do not disappoint. The Sidewinder definitely has better glass than the Eclipse and Varminter line. The one downside to the Hawke Sidewinder scopes is weight. They are 28oz. A lot of guys just will not put that much mass on their breech block. :) But, with the weight comes toughness - they can take a hit.

  • chair gun is good but i do find a few times its not 100% but i have now been playing with hawkes BRC and have found it a much better programe.ProVC

  • @theobenRapidHunting I'll take a look at that program. It is installed, but I haven't used it much. Video response is approved. I'll have a look at your vid later this evening. Take it easy, rapid! ted

  • @EdgunUSA I bought the hawke sidewinder (same as yours) for my air arms. And I am really happy thanks for the advise! The clarity certainly impressed me. But I was wondering if you couldn't use MOA adjustments, and if so why do you prefer to use mil dots?

  • PS I love chairgun Pro its great, just dont think its perfect :)

  • Why do I always see shot gun carts as targets?

I'll tell you why, so long as there is no wind @100 yards they are half a mi-dot high at 50 yards they are a a whole mil-dot high.

With such a large margin for error it makes the shot look good.

Try a video with shotgun shells on their side! you will see 20 misses for every hit

Better Still Put Paper Targets up with Intented POI and then we can see just how accurate it is !

Remember folks its all in the showmanship

  • Hi Ted, Me again. Still making the rounds on all of your excellent vids. I'm trying to wrap my brain around the SR6 reticle that came with the sidewinder tactical 30 scope (4.5 -14 x 42) on my royale 400. It is slowly sinking in, but...now I know you have a billion projects on your plate and numerous requests from our fellow airgunners, but was hoping you would consider a detailed vid on chairgun pro using the SR6 reticle selection? This newbie would apprediate it. Thanks for your efforts Ted.

  • Hi Ted,thx for the info,I have downloaded the app & I m confused on how to get some variables u have mentioned that the scope height measured from half of the barrel to the center of the scope I Got Stoeger X20S how to measure it as the barrel is not clear as urs?magnification: does they mean wht is the max zoom on the scope or what? and when apply the calculation on which mag is shold hold my scope?wht is dotsep variable? how to use the app for centerpoint AO scope?ur help is highly appreciated
