  • @ShootBlueHelmets Im shocked shes losing in the polls. I expect more from Texans.

  • YAY FOR TERM LIMITS, seriously.

  • You say "No" to special interests, Perry?? What about the Corridor? What about mandating vaccines?

  • Is his mouth moving?

  • the state should have NO debt. They are supposed to operate in CASH, not debt.

  • Well, no one has mentioned all the investments the govt. has made at all levels, which would render collection of taxes absolutely unnecessary. Look up the CAFR, the comprehensive anual financial report, and see that the 'budget' for any given year, does not include ANY of the money the state already has accumulated! It is said that there is so much wealth in the states that taxes are not even needed for the state to continue running for several generations. They are WEALTHY and hiding it.

  • Texas was one of the few states to avoid a budget shortfall in the current year. But the report also projects a budget gap of $4 billion to $5 billion a year starting in the 2012 budget year. Â This is all worth pointing out because state leaders rarely mention the $12 billion in stimulus dollars they received when they discuss what great work they did to balance the budget, and because Gov. Rick Perry was one of the countrys most dogged critics of the stimulus dollars.

  • perry says get started on it now? why not in the last 9 yrs that he has been gov.? kay voted for the first stimulus and she sounds like same ole same ole. medina has got my vote
