@LoveStallion well put

As an active Mormon I admit this whole episode was not handled well. This was an example of perhaps even well-intentioned people taking things too far. Stuff like this makes me ashamed, because our faith actually preaches love and reconciliation with everyone.

The guards admitted in the police report a hug and a kiss is all that happened to cause them to confront the couple. And it escalated from there. Then they detain the couple for... not leaving. Go figure.
What was so evil? What was so wrong. Str8 couples did the same and nothing happened. I think it's clear that bigotry and hypocrisy pass as righteousness among those who have lost a rationally moral perspective.

"But besides the danger of a direct mixture of Religion & civil Government, there is an evil which ought to be guarded agst in the indefinite accumulation of property from the capacity of holding it in perpetuity by ecclesiastical corporations. The power of all corporations, ought to be limited in this respect. The growing wealth acquired by them never fails to be a source of abuses.
James Madison, Detached Memoranda
These "ecclesiastical corporations" would evidently go after your Rights too.

Ignorance... pffff....

get over yourself

This is what the Celestial Kingdom will be like if a couple gay guys manage to keep their sexual identities hush-hush through the Millenium and finally come out once they become gods... Terrifying what kind of stuff goes on in this little microcosm of a theocratic dictatorship.

@nate925081 You totally can. This does not mean that you aren't an asshole, or immoral, or a terrible person in general for your motives for doing so--especially when you very quietly buy a public courtyard, and then expect others to obey your rules without them knowing what those rules are, or that they are in an area in which your stupid and questionably legal rules apply. It just means you can expel people from your property.
-
@nate925081 Yes and that goes for Missionaries too.
-
But if you don't want someone on private property, you have the right to get them off no matter the reason.
Looks like assault to me.

@whanethewhip I'm truly sorry for your anger and pain, but my cousin was tortured and murdered violently in Utah by anti-gay, non-mormons from Colorado that was just passing through Cedar City after being released from prison.I KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO HAVE A BELOVED FAMILY MEMBER MURDERED AT THE HANDS OF ANTI GAYS!!! But my cousin was well loved by his community of friends both in his hometown and at the UTAH university he was attending when those idiots took his life ASSHOLE!!!
