  • Do you have to have a $19 yearly subscription for this?

  • @alandicho You only need to buy the Stora Premiium services ($19.99 per year) if you want the following:

More than 3 user accounts (will soon be 5 as standard, Premium give you unlimited)

    Secure FTP

    Browsing with Cooliris

    Mobile Phone remote access

    RSS Feeds

    Flickr integration

All other features are standard and free. So you only need to upgrade if you need the above.

  • Can you create your own custom named folders ? And will this work if you have a dynamic IP address ? Thanks :)

  • @plebby12

Hey there. The network shares are fixed but you can create as many folders as you want within those shares. Hope that makes sense! it was a bit of a geeky reply but don't know how else to say it!

  • @plebby12

And yes it wants to work with a dynamic IP address (ie: one that your router gives out via DHCP)

  • @peterairs thanks!

Stora is simple network storage. To keep the price low and the simplicity high, some of the more advanced features are based upon a yearly subscription. Things like Flickr uploads, secure FTP, iPhone access. Its $19.99 per year. Go to the netgear website and download the data sheet for the full skinny.

The whole name of the ReadyNAS Duo is Netgear ReadyNAS duo :-) There's a video intro to it on my page somewhere.

  • @peterairs thanks! why would it require a subscription?

can you tell me the whole name of the readynas duo?
