This song is a tribute to Neda, a protester who was murdered during a protest for democracy in Iran, as well as to all the others who have died during the protests. I put a slide show in with it using various pictures collected on the internet. (Mostly from the flickr feeds.) Please pass this along as it conveys an important message to Iran and to the world: Down with Tyrants. Long Live Freedom.

Lyrics:

Over broken pavement, over flames and screaming shouts
There's a voice that calls the same to every house
Of a girl that stood by watching flags unfurl
No one knew that you would shake the entire world

Neda, Neda

Even here there's talk of men who stole away your life
From your father, from the city wracked with strife
Even in my heart, I find that I have grown
From the beauty that the world will never know

Neda, Neda

And there's victory in the stars, Neda
They can't take away your heart, Neda
Your eyes have lost their light
They stole away your life

It's the cost of freedom, it's the price of liberty
But no one knew that you'd become the one they'd see
On every newscast, every poster, every wall
One by one, all of the world begins to call

Neda, Neda

You were the face the world had never seen
You were swept away by seas of green
You didn't have a choice
But you've become our voice

The world will not forget you Neda,
We will not forget you...

And there's victory in the stars, Neda
Once this world was torn apart, Neda
But you've united all our hearts, Neda

You died with open eyes
So why are we so blind?
* * *
I hope this inspires you, and I hope that the world will always remember those who have lost their lives pursuing liberty. God bless.

  • seolari is a fucking Albafucknian the backward country that haven't have a radio at the time of chofuckingchiski 30 years ago SAVAGASE

  • Your calling me backward that's funny, You don't even know where or what Albania is. From the beginning When you first commented I could tell that you are a uneducated backward peace of shit. First clue is your unsophisticated language second the person that calls someone ells backward,is exactly that. Your calling me a fagot, the person that says that is the one that is. Also you seem to relish wards like cock and ass that's latent homo sign. I wish you in Iran

  • You piece of shit your kind has given a stink to America, since your kind arrived after the dickhead shah fell from power. You have become the joke of USA. Your portrayed as you are, filthy faggots. Now you whant to incite violence and perverted acts in Iran among the impressionable young. Since your filth left, that country has built a good and moral society and there not going to let you filth up the place agen. Your future is at the end of a rope.

  • Death to Khayayayamani

    Death to dictator

Death to the criminal and the Liar

  • What happened to the people who were arrested?

  • Never give up your rights to freedom! Don't stop fighting for your rights! The students and the people from this world are all behind you! Your generation is the most courageous Iran will ever know!

  • I would say that we should keep up with the positive even though it may be small it is a seed. Rest in peace Neda.

  • Thank you friend; We Iranians are hurt and bleeding, thinking the past 30 yrs through. and giving up our children and beautiful youth in the meanwhile. We are hurt. Thanks for the Marhame-Zakhm-Ma.

BTW, You got Paul Simon's echo in your voice! Warm & personal.
