The master system was technically superior to the NES (it had better soundchips and graphical processing)-it was very under-appreciated by the North American market. It also didn't have the blinking problem like the North American NES I think that SEGA perhaps may have done better, had they kept Alex as their masscott--rather then putting all of their energy into the big blue ball of spinning shit that has a run of bad luck with games over the last decade.
