if that was the case then every extra point and field goal would be called dead.
apparently this issue was discussed a few weeks ago with the LSU fake field goal (remember when the holder threw the ball over his head to the kicker who ran it in for a TD). he threw it while his knee was placed firmly on the ground.
why isn't the play called dead? The holder (aka the QB) has his knee on the ground, and in college football, a played with their knee down (whether by contact or not) is called down.
That guy was my high school quarterback. He is the man. Third string my ass.

This was a huge win for Rutgers, because it saved their season in terms of likely going to a good bowl and their hopes for a Big East Title. Amen?

the holder is exempt from that rule.
