Friedkin talked to the same cops who with whom he consulted on the French Connection. This was a tactic NY cops used in the 70's to intimidate people. It was also so bizarre that no one would believe them if they complained.

This movie was pretty good in many ways, same tone and feel from the French Connection. It's a shame Friedkin wasn't allowed to finish it. As it is, it's just a curiosity would it have come together with the missing footage and proper editing?

I don't think it was Pacino I think it was that fake cop at the end there because I don't really see a purpose for him over than that you remember in the begining where he's harassing those queens it all make sense to me. What do you think?

i saw this part and I was like WTF ? who is that guy's character is he the landlord of the building they got caught in. Kinda creepy.

Im confused as well. From what i get, you have 2 options, (1) Most likely Pacino is the killer or (2) He was undercover so long and cruising in these gay bars/etc, he became just like them, turned to the dark side of the underworld life style.

I think it is just a mystery who killed Ted, sure it could have been Pacino. They cut 40 minutes out of the movie, so who knows.

I just saw it last night, it's kinda funny to watch a lousy movie once in a while. I read about it on wikipedia, so many scenes were cut out, have to wonder if it could have been better. Unfortunately all the cut footage was lost.
