I am very very honored to be the first on You Tube to present this rare video. I first saw 'Vol De Rêve' when I was about 9 or 10 years old, a couple of years after it's initial release. It had a big impression on me, and I never, ever forgot this short movie.
'Dream Flight / Vol De Rêve' was produced in Montreal in 1982 and is one of the very first CGI movies in history. While Norman McLaren had been working with the ONF to develop electronic imagery and electronic music, Philippe Bergeron, Nadia Magnenat Thalmann and Daniel Thalmann pushed the genre further. Today, we see CGI almost everyday on TV and in the movies. It was far different back then.
Another reason to present this is the strange premonition contained in it, 20 years before september 11 2001.
This version of 'Dream Flight / Vol De Rêve' was slightly re-edited by me especially for You Tube. I replaced the music with a more contemporary score: 'Kaleidoscope' by Art Of Trance. It fits this movie like a glove.
Philippe Bergeron, Nadia Magnenat Thalmann and Daniel Thalmann are still working in the domain of electronic arts today.
