  • Geoff Marsh dropped catch in the gulley at about 1.18. Tom Graveney 'It was travelling pretty quickly' PRETTY quickly????

  • @ConnGM LOL. Hardest cutter in the history of cricket, you catch Smith at point and you'll have to go grab your hand from the point boundary. BRUTAL.

  • Looks like you were a big fan of Robin Smith! Love the old style huge backlift, not many have a similar style these days.

  • @itsgonnabefullon Loved his batting and his duels with Hughes!

  • My favourite batsman....cricket not been same since he slipped (prematurely) out of England reckoning.

Loved his debut in 88 against Windies, his first partnership with Lamb was at odds with chaos all around them and he was clearly something special.

This video shows my GCSE summer, nothing to do but enjoy a hot and dry summer and watch Ashes tests. Recall a lot of it, including the Hohns catch (Smith was out of partners and going for runs). Cricket not same since.

    Thank u so much, Robin!

  • Another South African

  • im a pakistani but i grew up admiring smiths cuts and pulls. i dont think i ever saw anybody cut the ball harder. what a batsman. what a glorious batsman

  • @Camelsarse there was nothing wrong with bats in Smith's heyday. To say they hit the ball further now is just plain wrong.

  • Beer belly was an average bowler

  • @Camelsarse Your right! Smiths average when he was dropped was still something like 44

  • BRUTAL!!!!

The Judge in action!!! Awesome!!! One of the best bats against fast short bowling!!!

    Legend!!!!
