  • I agree with you but I think parents should also be warned not to push their kids too hard toward music and at times build resentment toward music in their kids...

  • That's a good point, Ran. I do need to be grateful that my sister sent me to guitar lessons in grade school but let me drop them when I found them boring. Being forced to study music in an uninspiring way won't nurture talent.

  • My son is very musical! For 3 years old!

  • That's so cool! It's so easy to see even at that young an age. Glad to see you're encouraging him, Steve.

  • I can't wait to hear some of your new stuff.

  • Thanks Steve! I shoulda vlogged about this long ago, it's great for giving me a reason to actually _finish_ a song! :)

  • LoL....at 2 or 3 and up i was pulling pots and pans out of the cubbards and wooden spoons to create a makeshift drum set. :)

  • creative spurt? I think they have medicine for that.

I am excited to hear your spurts!

LordTempist and I both come from very creative artistic parents and it is exciting to see our boys express themselves in similar ways.

  • I don't have a lot of musical ability or inclination for making music, but I know what I like when hear it...

  • I´m glad you make videos again. Looking forward to the new songs!

I wonder what song comes to your head when you read a comment of someone who just wants your subscription ;)

  • Great vlog! I always wanted to play piano, but couldn't afford lessons. When Cam was 10 he wanted to play guitar, but they rich relatives who could afford to get him lessons said he was too young. I regret that. Cam wrote a few songs, but they are all Weird Al-esque. He sang one at the 6th grade talent show that left the entire school, parents and all, standing and cheering.

But my family is a camera family. Family reunions are like YouTube Gatherings where everyone has a camera in your face.

  • I liked that you encouraged parents. I always WANTED to.. As an adult i tried to overcompensate with pianos, and instruments, i had no time to learn. I could give lots of examples of songs in the head for sure. ... Today i said... oh my flashlight died, then immediately after..."The day the flash light died... and they were singin..." :D

  • how wonderful you are enjoying a creative burst. Enjoy it for those moments are when we are at our best.

    xx

  • Never say "never."

I'd like to think I have a musical mind, but the voices in my head tell me otherwise.

  • For some odd reason I wrote a C&W song last week. It was the only way to get it out of my head. I've never let a lack of real musical talent keep me from making music. And I'm sincerely sorry about that.

  • Both of my kids are really into music and art. My 18 yr old son plays the violin and the guitart. Makenna, my 4 yr old loves loves loves the guitar. She has a cheapie guitar from Target and is always "playing" it making up songs all the time. I play the violin so maybe that's where they get it from....
