ND alum here. I am ASHAMED of the University and its arrogant, ivory tower pride. ND used to be THE prime Catholic University. ND needs to be reminded that the humble origins of the faith were found in a manger with a baby that LIVED and still does. So Open minded that ones brain leaks out theology is not Christian.

Have you considered that you are perhaps the narrow minded fundamentalist? Sticking to your narrow-minded, safe, mainstream, media based opinions. This debate IS about being catholic, and allowing someone diametrically opposed to a fundamental catholic belief - the protection of ALL human life - to speak at a catholic university. If this was an issue offending Muslims, or Buddhists or Hindus, would you be so quick to criticize? Would Obama have been more eager to listen and appease them?

Obama's speech at Notre Dame was about reducing the number of abortions. That's the first step in getting rid of it.

Notre Dame seperates the body of Christ by publically flaunting itself against Catholic principles and teachings. It has had the audacity to give a law degree to a baby killer, which goes against the very rudimentary fundamentals of Catholicism and ethics. They have now appointed a pro choice woman, Roxanne Martino to the board of trustees. I plead with everyone to email Richard Notebaert, Chairman of the Board, asking him on this.
