A SheevaPlug (delivered Sep 09, 11th) which has been powered up 24/7 (230V) as a NAS for about 12 month. It got replaced by a second spare one from the same shipment as I switched from Ubuntu 9.04 to Debian Squeeze recently and wanted to keep the downtime short.
So far I hadn't noticed to "well known" problem with this plug, but as you can see the power supply seems to be worn out, now.
Luckily the plug still boots, but it takes already up to three minutes until the PSU get stable enough to supply the needed power for the device.
It takes up to ~1 min till the JTAG serial USB gets detected by the PC the first time. You can here PC's USB sound while the USB port goes up and down.
In the beginning only the left status LED and the Ethernet ports LEDs are periodically flashing, but then the right blue LED steps in, too.
It takes ~ another 2 min until the device is stable enough to fully boot up.
Power cycling the device ones it's up is of no concern as long as you don't wait too long and the plug's PSU get cold? again.
@rumple1001 I also had problem with Sheeva's PSU. Instead of ordering new one, I replaced all capacitors in original one and voila - it works. In future, I plan to connect it to external PSU.

I bought a Sheevaplug whose PSU failed after 11months and I've been waiting over 6 weeks for a replacement (to fit myself) ! PSU from NEWIT.co.uk who blame Globalscale for the delay. Was a great little server, now a useless dead box.
