@wooball7 I think so. To be honest, I wasn't really expecting anybody to watch these but the response has been so overwhelmingly positive that I'd like to continue. I might get a little boring when all I can talk about is surgery though, hahaha.

But, super big props to you. Choosing a life in GS is an all or nothing commitment, and I admire you for sticking to your dreams, despite all the other factors, rumors, and etc. involved with being a surgeon. Good luck with the rest of your interview season and I wish you and your bf good news on Match Day!

Glad you posted this. I was exactly in your same shoes in August... EM vs. GS. Pretty much lived my whole life wanting to be a surgeon, but then once i considered all the other factors of life and the sacrifices I'd have to make to get there... i decided to go for EM. While i will miss the OR a lot and the ability to literally fix and save someone's life, I figure the rewards of my decision will come through the ability and time to live out other facets of my life outside of work.

Congrats on your decision!! I'll be going through this process in a few years (I'm a first year med student). I have absolutely no idea what specialty I want to go into (though I do have an interest in surgery)! I've been keeping up with your videos for a while and it's been really interesting to hear about the different rotations. I hope you continue to post videos throughout the application process & residency :). Do you know what kind of surgery you'd like to do?

@bpost137 I loved trauma. I was super tired during the post I made about trauma so I wasn't that stoked on it but then I got used to the hours and we had a couple awesome calls and it is just so much fun... The teams and the crazy stories people come in with and healthy patients and amazing recoveries... :D I'm keeping an open mind though.
