Zhanna Bichevskaya and Hieromonk Roman sing one of the contemporary Orthodox spiritual songs written by Hieromonk Roman. Clearly, two voices are heard in the audio. The backdrop is a photo montage focusing on the life of All-Merciful Saviour Monastery on Vashon Island in Washington in the Pacific Northwest US.

One can see that we have kept the traditions of the rodina alive, and that the pictures could have been taken at any given monastery in the homeland. Our monasteries are an important part of the life of Orthodox Christians. We faithful often go on otpust to monasteries (although I have never been to this particular house) and they are a source of great spiritual vitality to us.

To the brotherhood of All-Merciful Saviour Monastery, many years! na mnogaya lyeta! Their website (well worth a visit) is: http://vashonmonks.com (this link does not work from this site, type in the address, and it shall work)

  • I cannot modify the video, without scrapping it entirely. I have many things on my plate, I do not have time to do so. If I made a mistake, so be it, but, there other more pressing matters for me to attend to.

If this offends you, or, if you find me funny, so be it. I am a busy woman, my translation work has taken all of my time, so, that is all that there is to be said of it.

  • Très beau chant de prière. "Seigneur, aie pitié !" Et surtout la voix émouvante de Jeanne Bitchevskaïa. Dommage que cette grande chanteuse russe soit méconnue en France.

  • If I was a single man I would probably be a monastic.

    Very nice video and music...

I loved the very large cross almost at the end.

  • Thank you for finding time to write an answer here and in personal, r.B. Vostorgina. However, editing the title for Youtube, the video description, as well as tags should take only a couple of minutes (my account-my videos-edit video info/annotations). Thank you for all your videos, but I just hope that while doing your enlightment job, you check the name of the performer and the song in the heat of the moment)). In no way I find you "funny", I just find the attitude amusing.
