the K & N is a tried and true piece. been around for years. also the metal tube is a no-no. the metal gets hot and therefor sends a hot stream of air into the intake system. use a tube like an Airraid. this all is really a no brainer. some people like all that chrome under the hood. like the old saying: if it don't go chrome it. in this case that really works. oh, doesn't matter if it's polished alum., it's still metal.

@urbex2007 lol im sure you tested k&n if you did you would know it adds power and it filters.

why use a steel pipe? they are heavier why not plastic flextible ones they sell in halfords please let me know asap? thanks

@stuart8107 Agreed - Pipercross is better, it actually FILTERS which the K&N doesn't. Pipercross uses a multilayer oiled foam, so it doesn't block like a K&N, it still allows air. So if you must fit an aftermarket air filter - fit a Pipercross. I have tested every make. K&N shotblasts the turbo and engine as it doesn't filter. Pipercross filters to 5 microns, paper = 10microns, K&N doesn't filter. These air filters will not improve performance by much, but make a bit more noise.

have u done any other modifications on your car?

eso suena a tractor je je je je

green and k&n are made out of the same material theres like no difference
it didnt sound vry nice cus of mic on my phone. green cotton jus sounds nicer than k and n. got st170 now with a pipercross forced air intake. the difference in power with air filters is hardly any difference but its good to know your car is takin in as much cold air as possible. that pipe never used to get hot maybe warm.

pipercross is prob better on performance if u get a forced air induction kit but k&n is over rated. green cotton is best for sound and throttle response.
