I DO NOT USE TABS, SORRY, PLEASE DON'T ASK. I hope this won't offend too many devout Beatles fans out there, but I have been playing this tune like this for so long that I figured I'd probably botch the lyrics if I tried to do it the way it was originally. LOL. This is my cover of Back In The USSR with a slight change in the lyrics.

  • am i the only one how thinks that this sound like something a country singer would do (change the lyrics) because it does to me

  • @acdc192837465 You must be the only one...Weird Al Yankovic isn't a Country Singer and he got rich changing song lyrics on a multitude of songs. Come to think of it, can you cite an example of a country singer changing the lyrics to a song? I cannot think of any.

  • You've turned this song into the very thing it ridicules :( More than made up for by your other Beatles covers though which are superb :))

  • @Thinderchild01 I'm not trying to be punchy or anything but I wasn't aware that this song necessarily "ridiculed" anything. I've read where Paul McCartney stated this song (original version) came about as an inspiration from the Beach Boys Pet Sounds album, and the lyrics were only meant to be a little cynical. I made up my own lyrics for this which are directed to my wife, and since I don't live in the USSR I had to sing about being back home here in the US of A. Was just having fun with her

  • @SilverHamer well im not saying ur bad or anything im just saying it sounds like something a country singer would, change the lyrics to a song to make sound like a usa sounding song. sorry if i offended u.

  • mucho roio pinche viejo bigoton !! pa la victor !!

  • @SilverHamer I take your point. Ridicule was a poor choice of word. "Pokes fun at" would have been better. I think to use those lyrics during the cold war with the ghost of McCarthyism not far away was no accident. and quite brave considering what had happened over Lennon's Jesus comment in '66. All wars start by villfying the "enemy". This song tried to stop that process by suggesting the Soviets were just like people in the West....and took a side-swipe at the Beachboys.......pure class!!
