Was this his first big win? Look at him and how he loves the crowd by his side, its now became more obvious why he hated playing in Asia, everybody is against him lol.

One of the best players of all time and still is. If he had a great attitude I think more people would love him. Pool definitely isn't the same as it used to be.

This seriously makes me wonder one thing: Earl got better and better with each shot, as more and more people were cheering him on. I makes you wonder about the heights he COULD HAVE reached if somehow he was surrounded by love and admiration during his whole career, rather than hate and repugnance. Ultimately, I feel sorry for him--on a talent level he's one of the ABSOLUTE GREATEST who has ever played, yet his career surely brought him a great deal of pain and hurt.

If Earl was surrounded by "hate and repugnance" then it was of his own making. Seeing him shoot this well back in 1983 makes it plainly obvious that he chose to build his reputation to what it is now... a worlds greatest 9-ball player that no-one wants around. He still has time to fix that, irregardless of how he plays. Win and lose with dignity a few times in front of a major audience and peoples minds may change.
