  • @xxRAPisgayxx

    Agreed.

  • @Krow83 I just like Wu in general. has some kick ass characters.

  • @SwordsmanLVL3

Haha.... Good memories. All your forces would be rushing Sun Quan, when he shows up right by Cao Cao with maxed morale on the other side of the map. Good times lmao

  • @Blazieth

Worse case scenario, that could be Sun Quan. It'd be foolish not to retreat. Not necessarily of Zhang Liao's might, but to keep the enemy outside of your ranks doing god knows what.

With that said, I love Zhang Liao. Excellent general and he was certainly brave.

Gan Ning did more than lead some successful raids, btw.

  • @Blazieth

    200,000 with 800.

However, there was an epidemic mind you. He also had Li Dian and Yue Jin with him; both accomplished Wei generals. On top of that, they didn't have radios back then. Once Zhang Liao was behind the Wu front lines(which he could've either charged through like they said or just found an opening) he could've been anywhere. Some unaware generals might not be paying attention and then you have a case of what happened to Yan Liang.

  • @xxRAPisgayxx

Actually, you can. But he has his facts wrong.

    Gan Ning>Zhang Liao

  • @Xboxishomo

despite not being able to re-fortify it due to time constraints.

He obviously proved his worth in archery as well. Killing Ling Cao and unhorsing Yue Jin.

On top of that, he showed prowess in military council, as well. Such as convincing Sun Quan to attack Jing.

After Chi Bi, he and Zhou Yu both followed up immediately after capturing Yiling, Wan and one other city whose name is escaping me at the moment. This is just scratching the surface. Check out the SGZ.

  • @Xboxishomo

Zhang Liao's overrated. He had more experience under his belt and his feats at He Fei were indeed impressive. However, Gan Ning constantly proved his worth much moreso than Zhang Liao.

100 horseman nightraid on a 400,000 strong camp and everyone surviving?

Singlehandedly using his weapon to scale a fortress because everyone else was too afraid to do so? Not to mention he had the balls to kill a political figure after doing so. AND held it for 10 days despite not

  • @xxRAPisgayxx Well if you're talking about who would win in a straight-up one on one, then yeah, that would settle it. But overall, it's their accomplishments as Generals that determines who was better. It doesn't matter how strong they are in a fight if they can't do shit as commanders, considering that they were, after all, Generals.

Gan Ning may have led some successful raids, but Zhang Liao successfully turned away an army of 10,000 men (IIRC) with only 700 men.

  • well obviously i can't have an opinion
