A number of students from Howard, in programs such as HUSA and the NAACP, are taking a stand by holding a march to the White House to support Troy Davis, who was planned to be executed on September 21 at 7pm.

Davis was convicted for the murder of off duty police officer, Mark MacPhail. Since then, Davis was tried, found guilty and put on death row and has remained there for the past 19 years.

Since then, there has been a discrepancy about the case, which has completely begun to fall apart. Recently 7 out of the 9 witnesses have recanted their testimonies and there has never been any physical evidence linking Troy Davis to the murder. The murder weapon was never found.

  • @haydaranozakhe I was saying that the comment @NeoRwing Made Was Racist Not The Protest . .

  • @haydaranozakhe why should i join the bandwagon ? I bet the only facts you know about Davis is that 7 out of 9 witnesses recanted and there's no evidence linking him to the crime.

  • @talkfree13 and thats the kind of stubborn ignorance that gets us no where in the world.

  • @haydaranozakhe I do have the right mentality. Im not joining the bandwagon sorry

  • @phirobins the student body did march to the supreme court...

  • @talkfree13 and you have the wrong mentality get ON the bandwagon and do something

  • @haydaranozakhe feeling good it was and still is about "No Justice, No Peace" you sit here with your negative comments what have you done to fix the situation?

  • @haydaranozakhe thought was wrong it doesn't matter When the protest happened all that matters is that there was light brought to the issue of our people being locked up on circumstantial evidence; being locked up and sentenced to death with out the opportunity for a fair trial all you people that say that the protest was meaningless have you signed a petition to help get a fair trial to another person in troy davis' situation? Its not about the lime light it was never about the lime light or...

  • i'm speaking as a Howard University Student that was involved in the protest. The efforts of that protest were not pointless the brought enlightenment to cases just like Troy Davis before that day I didn't know anything about His situation but after the protest I learned about his case and the plight of so many other individuals stuck in that predicament. I take EXTREME offense to the "feel good" comment that protest was heartfelt and sincere people where standing up for something that they...

  • @missliltee

Exactly. I appreciate the enthusiasm and the thought, but these protests were pointless. They just wanted to feel good about themselves...
