This is a recent upgrade to a 2 tube / Valve and then to a 3 tube / valve to operate a Speaker. Tubes / valves line up SP61 RF amp , 6J5 Pre- amp using also a Mono TV line output PL504 ..27 vac heaters, works well on Ham frequency, over regeneration to resolve SSB....Thanks for viewing ,,,G7CXO
Hi You sound you're gonna have fun building a superhet,IF coils can easly be built check them out on the internet, normally you need to cover 455khz ,I believe you can wind about 160 turns on a 0.25 of an inch diameter so you will need 2 x 160 turns IF 1 and 2 x 160 turns on IF 2, then tune them by the iron core inside the slug, the distance between the coils should be about 0.75 of an inch the closer the sharper would be the RF... So have go and let me know what came out of it....

A unusual choice of output valve. I suppose that was just what you had available?
I like making radios. I took the step of having a separate AR amplifier. It also is the 'other channel' for my Hacker record player.
I have made a basic regenerative MW TRF. I wound my own coil and then adapted a oscillator coil of unknown origin. All good clean fun!
What's next? Maybe a DIY Superhet: ECH35, EF39 & EB34. I have a coil-pack, but no IFT's yet.
