Nice MK II check my channell ,I have a nice escort to,with 5 speed sierra v-6 gearbox. And a 288 degree racecam with hepolite pistons with smal combustion chambers....the car is for sale....but of course lefthand drive. Also a lot extras, too much to write down here,...and a lot of spare parts. if you have interrest just mail
Hi Guys, Wondered if you might be able to help...... I have a 711m crossflow in a MK1 Mexico with twin 48 dellortos. The engine was running sweet before the rebuild but not it has no guts. It ticks over lovely and the idle mix screws have been set back to how they were, but when we go to pull away it backfires a bit and has no power. Any ideas?
Most people will use 1300+90 pistons, this gives a higher compression ratio when compared to using 1600 pistons...if i am correct, i think the +90 stands for +90 1/1000th of an inch diameter. You also need to overbore the cylinders +90 thou to get a true 1698cc.
Disgusting......thats the fact that I dont own this car!lol!!!
Truly excellent sir!!!
I wish I hadnt sold my mine when I was 17...I suppose it better than crashing one....like most other people did when they got a mk1/2 and tuned it.
I had a mate with a mint condition...mint blue- the old police car colour, mk2, deep dish steels and good cam, exhaust etc, zero rust and lowered, he crashed it after a week, awful shame.

I regret selling my mk2 so much about 14 years ago.
I had a 1.3 ghia painted matt black and lowered with a peco system and manifold.
servo gets in the way of DCOE carbs !!
