  • Wonder if any commentary is out there, from any of the crickets about Hollys reaction to this conversation, once he hung up.

  • @coyclown I dunno. Decca had Buddy under contractual obligation during the sessions. Decca paid for the sessions. They owned the tapes. I'm not saying it was fair, but it was what it was...

  • Sad, So sad that a great talent like Buddy would have to deal with that.

  • To a lot of people who don't know, this explains why a lot of Buddy Holly's songs were released as the "Crickets", not as "Buddy Holly", as you heard, he couldn't record and release any of his songs he did at Decca for 5 years, including That'll Be The Day. So technically and legally, That'll Be The Day was a "cover" done by the Crickets.

  • This is remarkable. I think one of the songs being discussed here is Thatll Be the Day. Which Holly did release on another label and Decca never objected. Wish who posted this would give us more info. Buddy was much more savvy then alot of you think.

  • You can tell he's a young (21 yo) kid who's naive how the business works.

  • Just more evidence to what a gentleman and a class act Buddy was. So sad that his career was cut so short. He was so young and so talented. I just wish it would have been in God's plan to leave him with us a lot longer.

  • @TheIntruders Jews are the serpent-seed of Cain. Jews are not Israel. He's a son of Cain/Lucifer posing as an Israelite.

  • Buddy seemed very polite and calm for someone who was getting the raw end of it. The other guy was pretty rude in my opinion and kept cutting him off. Would love to have heard more. Thank you for sharing.

  • Come on the man died.. Money makes people greedy.

  • This was crazy, this was his music, and if Decca didn't release them, why didn't they let him record them for someone else. It was only because Decca was gonna use for someone else. That's bull.
