this is really interesting - thanks for sharing - I agree there is probably a lot we can learn from this as we get into working out the finer details of the interface we're working on... standby for some more questions as we do! thanks again!

To clarify (short comment limit)... my brother is completely new to Drupal, and it was on a fresh install I made for his site. I observed him and helped as little as possible, and took note of all the issues he had (almost everything to be honest). He asked how to put things in listings besides the default front page. After trying to allow him to figure out how to categorize on his own (he couldn't), I mentioned Taxonomy (and the idea of Views), and of course both ideas were waaay too much haha

Love it! :) Very cool idea. I think that would clear up a lot of confusion for my clients (and friends/family I've setup on Drupal as well). I saw this issue happen just the other day. On my brother's new site, he made some content and it took him 5+ minutes of frustrated searching to "find" the content he'd just made, which of course also had no "listing page" he expected. I think the only spot they'd still get hung up on here is dealing with taxonomy terminology, but that's a separate issue.

Love the idea, think it really makes things more streamlined. Hopefully Mark and Leisa can take it and apply it to the edit in place proposal for D7.
Does this work across multiple content types or is this grouping of admin functionality bound to 1 content type?

This is (unfortunately) bound to a single content type. The objective would be to have a system that tracks these bindings and then builds up this sort of admin on request for a given content type. Obviously something like individual pages would need a different workflow that this has.
