The MomoCon 2007 Shut Down Announcement

Please ignore that at some points my camera aims at the sky or falls back, I was trying not to be obvious that I was filming.

Despite the seriousness of the atmosphere, the "We ran out of Pocky" comment was still funny as hell.

Basically, what had happened was there were loud popping sounds. It was said some people set off fireworks in the parking lot and were trying to bring them inside. For the safety of the con-goers we were rushed outside and the situation was explained to us. The day had to end early, and though everyone was disappointed, no one blamed the staff. We understood, and were thankful, they had to keep our well being in mind.

CHANGES:
Because of last year's incident, of course, some changes have been made. This year, if you are 16 OR OLDER you will have to show valid ID (driver's license, military ID, etc). If you are UNDER 16, you will need a parent to register you off. ALL ATTENDEES *MUST* be registered off and have a badge, BUT the event is still FREE.

Damn, that sucks. Though, I can't imagine someone being dumb enough to stick around after causing such trouble, not to mention I myself had heard they'd gotten the people, or at least some, responsible before giving us this announcment. But who knows. Anything's possible.

Gah, who knows, but it was a real bitch. I felt so bad seeing people JUST come to the convention, some in amazing cosplay, and everyone having to tell them what had just happened, and we all had leave. D:

Yeah, I know. Well, I was there at that convention, but not for very long though. But as soon as I found out about the incident from a few friends...I was irrate! No fans of anime...nobody in general should go through that!

Man, I was so pissed when Momocon closed because some dumasses filled the entire Center with firecrakers!!!!! I can't believe they think it's funny when it comes to endangering people.

Damn, I would've been PISSED had I been at that convention. Ok, no, I'm still annoyed; not only did the staff have to work hard to put that con together for the fans, but now those who were innocent had no con because some people were just stupid. I mean, who brings fireworks to a convention? O.e Bakas

Okies heres where im at. If these individuals did set off fireworks inside the con, they will end up in trouble with the law. Anyone who gets hurt by the fireworks those individuals who started it could face a crime. Also setting off fireworks in a con is a fire hazard. The con faced shut down early and if nothing was sold that day its a problem, its what its called Murphy's Law "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong" I just hope Momo Con doesnt have to go through anymore shut downs.
