Oh man... I feel for you. I'm a doctoral student, and sleep deprivation kinda goes without saying with my job, but I've always been curious about sleep deprivation in the film industry. Of course till I saw this video and I read your post, it didn't occur to me that the crew must suffer like crazy. Hats off to you guys for making movies work.

....I did the very same thing. I nodded off on my way home & hit the car ahead of me. It was the very last day of an extremely long hour gig. Every penny I made on the whole production went to pay for the damage of the accident.~ I was just glad to finally get to bed!

@Transcribes "...idiot liberal goes to the movies..." Of which there must be millions as just the top 10 movies of 2011 brought in more than $2 billion dollars in the US and Canada alone. Deathly Hollows got $1.3 billion worldwide alone. And you missed the point to this clip. It wasn't making an argument that the ACTORS should have to work less, but that NO ONE should have too work to many hours. That includes people like you and me. Christian?Try to love like Jesus, not bring more hate.

Having worked long hours in the entertainment industry as an audio tech, I know that lack of sleep kills people. I've worked 137 hours out of a possible 168 in a work week. On one gig. I also then crashed my car driving home on the last day of that gig. Sure top talent actors have it easier, but each of these actors pointed out that the crews work significantly harder for long sustained periods.

The business needs to find a safer way to get this done.
