  • That was pretty cool. I've read all Mr Poes stories but to hear it was cool. I didnt like Hopfrogs voice though he didnt get that right. You could discuss this story for a day and night but its just not worth it. We all know what it means to ourselves and thats all that matters. Dumb people have never heard of Edgar Allen Poe thats why i dont go out anymore. Rather me in my house reading.

  • @TTaido Glad you liked it. I'm not good at doing other voices, but I did what I could :o)

  • Oh wow! This is my favorite story of all time. Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • @BisonTurdjoy My pleasure, it's one of my favourites too.

  • An excellent reading of one of Poe's most underrated stories

  • @agdtone I first heard of Hop-Frog in an unusual way - many years ago I picked up a woodworking magazine in which someone had created a huge carving of him. So I read the story and have always loved it. I've been trying to record a mix of less well known stories and poems, with some classics, although I have a big one 'in the edit suite' (?!) which is about as well known as they come. Stay tuned!

  • It's a shame that Hop-Frog never received the renounce it deserves.

  • you could be an audiobook recorder!

    that was great

  • Great stuff man

  • @Gisburne2000 Wow, I have to do some goggling to find a picture of that sculpture. I was introduced to Hop-Frog in 1992 when American Playhouse featured Julie Taymor's stunning adaption entitled "Fools Fire". After viewing it, at age 11, I submerged myself in the works of Poe, Lovecraft, Howard, Brautigan, Lansdale and other writers of Gothic tales, both classic and contemporary. Thank you for sharing your reading with us and I happily look forward to your next narration.
