I don't think it will replace Pro Tools, but it will mean that a good alternative will exist, which can be just as bad (e.g. competition).

@Kicktess come on both of you guys, and all of y'all fighting...whats the sense in fighting and getting hyped about who's gonna knock who the fuck out lol? Pro Tools has its advantages, and Reason/Records has its advantages...alotta producers I know in studios have Protools; but they have Reason slaved to it, cuz its good for fast beatmaking, and they use Protools to mix/record audio. I dl'd Record and I like the SSL emulation,the mixer is better than Protools but the latter has better plugins

gotta say been using reason a long time and its not just for the "bedroom guys" however, its these "bedroom guys" who actually turn out some of the hottest tracks in todays music world, but thats obvious. if you use record and reason correctly you don't sound thin at all infact it creates radio quality sound in your "bedroom" and some of the biggest names in the biz use it. if you dont understand it just say its nice
