Climate change is the other subject gripping attention around the world with a major conference set to begin in Copenhagen, Denmark on Monday. The Kenyan delegation to the Copenhagen talks is setting its sights securing more funds to help it implement its national climate change response strategy. The strategy requires some 149 billion shillings to implement. As NTV Brenda Mulinya reports, Kenya leaves for the talks against the grim backdrop of a predicted fall in the countrys GDP as a result of climate change.

  • The environment mister made a good point about nations rejecting their responsibilities regarding climate change

  • This is miss use of public funds. Why do u need sixty people in Copenhagen? While the citizens are going hungry. Raila, get ur priority straight. People are going hungry while u feast with big delegation. Sad

  • US envoy questioned raila on the huge team going overseas and the allowances that the civil service will get, raila went crazy. accusing the envoy of overstepping his mandate. raila has become a crook. he is begging donors for money, everytime we have a disaster, you see them begging and when the donors demand accountablity and financial responsibility, they start going crazy. raila is a dissapoinment. i don't know what we can do next. where did all the young kenyans go? disgusting

  • ksh 200 000 per person is too little my dear. These people travel first class, and an economy ticket would cost like 80k return to kenya..do ur maths on how much it would cost for the first class one....these people would be booked to 4 and 5 star hotels in Denmark...add that transport e.t.c ...200 k ...way too low...Am sure for most its just a holiday trip

  • @chaimoto I wonder how much it's going to cost to ferry 60 people to Copenhagen. Approximating kshs 200,000 per person on travel and allowance and the total comes to 12million shs, enough to drill 10 boreholes that could supply water for thousands. Kudos leaders!

  • @edenskid As the doctor said, the "delegates" are going on a shopping spree. We aint getting no 149billion and they know it.

  • Dr Evans Kituyi and environmental specialists from the universities should be the only people considered for the trip. The rest of the noise makers should clean up Kenya to get rid of cholera and take care of the residents.

  • 149 billion shillings? how did they come up with such a number? oh i get it. they same guys who appraised the VP's house @ 100million and it's still not complete. Yes!! let all Kenyan feel the pain. I have no more mercy for them. They voted these guys in. Waumie kabisa

  • Is moi among the eligible to this trip? let them not carry those who are just going to sleep there in the hall, i think only ten people are enough, wekesa, michuki, odinga,Ngilu and beth mugo are enough.

  • SIXTY FUCKING PEOPLE!!! Fuck the citizens who allow these charades!! Shout at least!! Look, even the NTV CANNOT fucking question the high number - we have all accepted this wastefulness by the government. Could the NTV not see this? Can the citizens not see this? It is so sad!!
