I have this webcam, a logitech C300, and a Logitech Webcam Easy/Cool. I would say that the microsoft performs best on my computer.

If you look at my videos you can see the quality of this product it's utter shit as of 2008 forward. I thought it was worth it seeing it on amazon.com for 35 bucks and with a good rating. This shit is horrible, the buzzing sound it makes is annoying as hell. This thing is not durable for a second I recommend another product.

@stancalif -OMG, removing that little metal shield totally fixed my webcam audio issue. I figured what the heck, may as well try it since I'm most likely going to throw the piece of crap away any way. Well much to my surprise it worked. This is the only place I have been able to find a fix. All other sites are blabbing about drivers and such. Thanks for the fix!

I have (1) Microsoft VX-3000 Webcam and (2) Microsoft VX 6000 Webcams on three separate computers. Each one has exhibited the same audio problem, an extremely loud AC hum drowning out the audio occasionally. The solution was to disassemble the unit and to remove entirely the metal shield over the mike cartridge and clip the ground connection. Moving the shield only solved the problem for a short time and the hum would return. Hope this helps anyone with ;the same problem.
