In lily pads like this, what is the difference between casting or flipping a long distance, jigging, and then sliding your bait over some pads and dropping it in the next opening? That technique would cut down on the number of casts and hit just as many, if not more spots. ?

Some advantages of flipping over casting is pinpoint accuracy, heavy pound test and a stiff long high leverage rod. Also mimimum line out to maximize the hookset with little to no line stretch. Covergae of the area fished is also more thorough. I hope this helps...Paul

iam an expirienced bass fisherman and your vids are great just one thing the reason people use braid is because u can put 30lb test on their and it wont overload the reel.if u put 30lb test mono on a baitcaster u will overload it and it wears your reel down fast

Thanks for the comment. The reel in the video is about 16 years old and have been using it for flipping with mono that long. It's an old Daiwa with 3.8 low gear ratio. I know many guys like the higher speed reels, but I prefer the low gear ratio for winching strength. The reel has only been lubed and cleaned with only some new drag washers for parts. Maybe the new ones can't handle the mono, but this one has.
