Humans need to have at least 15 inches of rain a year and most of Western China doesn't recieve that. Northern China is mostly dry grasslands. You've got the Himalaya in the South. So? Over a billion Chinese earn less than $10 per day. They are going to have to sustain 8-10% growth year after year after year in order to placate their population {which history tells us they won't be able to do.} When their growth slows down to a more reasonable level of 4% or 5% the China miracle will be over and eventually Tienamen Square will look like a madi gras festival.
