Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:13-15

Mysticism attempts to gain ultimate knowledge of God by a direct experience that bypasses the mind. Catholic mysticism, now officially married to the Emerging Church, needs to be reexamined. Old-time mystics such as Loyola, Teresa of Avila, and John of the Cross need to be examined again along with modern so-called evangelical mystics such as Richard Foster. All of this, and more, is accomplished in this professional presentation along with graphic inserts of persons and events. An analysis is also made of Phyllis Tickle who has surfaced as a formidable leader of this toxic movement. The fall from power of Tony Jones, a former leading light of the movement, is also documented.

On Sunday evening August 16, 08 Chuck Smith introduced Rick Warren as "my good friend who pastors Saddleback Church..." at Greg Laurie's 20th Anniversary of the Harvest Crusade.

In June 2006 Smith issued his now infamous "Parson to Parson" inter-church memorandum to all Calvary Chapel pastors in the Calvary 'movement' (which doesn't wish to be known as a denomination) stating Calvary's distinct differences from Rick Warren's teachings and demanding both of Warren's bestseller books The Purpose Driven Life and The Purpse Driven Church be taken off the shelves at Calvary Chapel bookstores worldwide, forbidding them to sell Warren's books or allign themselves with him in any - something Greg Laurie has thumbed his nose at since day one. Warren also teaches the Purpose Driven dynamics in his pulpit alligning himself with New Age beliefs and practices straight out of Hinduism and Buddhism and other unbiblical dynamics that the Emergent Church embraces which Warren is most certainly a part of and has given his full support.

Chuck Smith has never rescinded his position separating himself and the Calvary Chapel church organization from Warren's beliefs and practices yet Greg Laurie has even voiced his intentions to support Warren not only ministerially, but, spiritually, emotionally and financially as well. In April 2008 when he was at Warren's convention in NYC he announced he had contributed a lot of money to Warren. Laurie has since shown his film, "Lost Boy" at Saddleback Church and continues to be associated with Rick Warren.

Since his June 06 memo Chuck Smith has not only allowed pastors from Emergent churches affiliated with Rick Warren and other heretics to speak at his Costa Mesa church as well as the Calvary Chapel College and Conference Center in Murrieta, CA!

Interestingly enough Roger Oakland was fired from CC's KWAVE radio in So CA for airing his 'Ichabod' commentary regarding the apostate mega churches who are embracing the Emerging heresy. He stepped on some toes in Calvary Chapel of pastors who have a controlling interest in KWAVE because they are affiliated with Rick Warren and are teaching the PD&E dynamics to their churches. Chuck's brother Paul Smith was fired for preaching essentially the same message as per Chuck's Parson2Parson memo!

My questions are these: How can Greg Laurie justify his obvious unequal yoking with Warren who obviously teaches another 'gospel', a false christ and a false church?

How can Chuck Smith simply look the other way at Greg Laurie's obvious thumbing his nose at Calvary Chapel distinctives per Chuck Smith or has Chuck flip-flopped on the issue? Back-peddling much there Chuck?

Is Calvary Chapel about to experience another big split among the ranks of pastors worldwide who are divided on Warren, Purpose Driven and Emergent (PD&E) and may soon pull out of Calvary to join with Warren or perhaps their own version of PD&E?!

  • @BereanBeacon1 Right on! In fact the Pope is himself working full time to bring about that "unity" under a global "faith". It's Pope Benedict's stated purpose.

  • @HomeSkillet489 "teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." is a perfect description of the RC clergy. Protestants (of the past, at least) were tortured and murdered by the RC church for rejecting "the commandments of men" to practice the pure doctrine of the written word of God.

  • @HomeSkillet489 Transubstantiation is the doctrine that the host and wine actually BECOME the substance of the body and blood of Christ (tho not in appearance), and that each Mass is an actual sacrifice of the Body and Blood. Just ask a priest about it. The problem with unrepentant Catholics is that they don't understand the full implications of RC doctrines. Like I said, I been one, I know how the Catholic mind works.

  • @HomeSkillet489 I never heard of Richard Bennett. I do find it interesting that you label as "liars" people who have come out of RC-ism and know it all too well. Cults do exactly the same thing about former members who seek to warn others about the cult. You might want to abandon that line of argument. Jus' sayin'.

  • @HomeSkillet489 putting "sacraments" between the believer and Christ IS putting a religious work in the way salvation, "salvation by works" by your own definition. Jesus did NOT "give ways" (small or big w), He IS the way, He Himself! He said "This is the work of God; to BELIEVE on Him whom He has sent." And yes, Jesus did die in our place 2000 years ago. So Why is He sacrificed AGAIN at every Mass? That is what RC teaches, re: transubstantiation.

  • @HomeSkillet489 I DO know what RC-ism is about, that's why I left. When I was RC, I would say essentially what you profess to believe, but that is not the COMPLETE RC doctrine, which is that one must "access" that saving grace through the sacraments. RC-ism puts religious works (and a lot of other things) between the believer and Christ. That's "another gospel". Biblically, I "access" the benefits of Christ's sacrifice by BELIEVING it applies to me. That is Biblical faith.

  • This guy sounds like he has alot of bitterness. Kind of sad.

  • @opbfpastor It's possible that he knows what Catholicism really teaches, but he never mentions it. Almost everything he says about the church is a lie. Either he never knew what real Catholicism was or he did but is not telling the truth. I've said that 1000 times! You Fundamentalists are all the same, you'll continue to ask the same question over and over again until you get the answer you want and when we tell you what we really believe, you'll make it look like I have nothing to say.

  • @HomeSkillet489 You forgot to answer my challenge. Is it possible that the man knows nothing about what the RCC believes and teaches or not?
