Homebuild low profile 3DoF motion platform using triple partial Sarrus linkage in triangle position. Idea based on inmotionsimulation 3DoF unit, but modified for cheaper drive and added weight-balance capability. Video shows initial tests with 150kg payload.

  • Hi Roland.

I'm currently in the planning phase of my 3DOF setup and wonder what kind of motors you used. Simple wiper motors as usually used in DIY-projects of that kind?

    Thanks and Greetings, M.

  • @bukkor

The motors I used are 50V DC, high torque, low rpm, see my website for the detailed specs. Wiper motors have a worm gear build in, and are 12V DC, so high current, different rpm. I think they are less suitable for the #IV platform actuators.

  • Hi roland as a long standing admirer of your work , have to say once agin you have come up with goods :-) excellent work and presentation as always . cant wait to see wher you take this next

  • Great work Roland, nice smooth motion and good range of travel. It looks as if it handles the 150 kgf well. It should give good motion cues when it's all finished.

  • In een woord, Prachtig.
