The Kent Air Ambulance Taking off for a callout from an open day at Biddenden Vineyards, on Sunday the 7th of June 2009.

The Kent Air Ambulance Trust operates a McDonnell-Douglas MD-902 Explorer helicopter from it's base in Marden. Travelling at over 150mph it can reach anywhere in the Kent County within 15 minutes, making it a rapid response unit to any emergency.
The Trust costs over 1.5 million pounds a year to run and relies purely on fundraising, with no government support. Please vist the website for more information, and donate; because one day it could be your life that is saved!

  • Cheers. Yes, Luckily I had my digital camera so I just got it out and took this. Tried holding it still as much as possible, but when they really started to take off, it was hard to stand still. You may have seen grass flying about aswel.They only just got the call so I think they were plotting, double checking and then getting ready for take off before actually taking off. The other pilot hadnt got in either: they may have just been warming it up or something aswel.
