couldn't they have done it without the accents?

The accents on this are awful. No real sense of direction or depth with this scene at all. The guy sounds half australian and the woman has american twag at the end of her sentances. Disappointed with this clip.

Oops, I thought the audience were quiet. LOL When I saw Beautiful Thing in London, England (my home town), the audience would all go quiet in certain tense scenes with the characters. We have nicknamed the play/movie "BT" as well by the way. Hehehe. Yeah, the Beautiful Thing fanclub from online and I went to the West End and saw a play in London, England. It was brilliant and I am sure the one above in America was brilliant too. :) Daryl :)

Ah, I didn't know you were rehearsing. Indeed, I find when I perform, a live audience always adds something to the experience. It's a joint effort really. I feed from the audience to better my performance, and in return, they have a delightful time. Personally, acting on camera seems a lot harder than stage work, being you're working WITHOUT an audience to take part in the experience. You have to imagine they are there. This would be an amazing play to see in person. Great job guys!

really really good, well done

An American production of Beautiful Thing. Lovely to see how people over the world play it out to the fellow natives. They have the London accent right down to a T and I am a Londoner. Jamie aka the cute Nathan sounds a little like he had a blocked up nose though. Hehehe. Dazza xx :)
The accents are great, however, this is supposed to be a raw, powerful scene, for both characters. I didn't really get that. Still, good job though.

This was taped during the final week of rehearsals, right before the show opened, so there wasn't an audience. I find that a full house always gives the performances an extra "jolt" - perhaps what you were looking for. And scenes from live stage shows don't always translate as fully on the screen, as when you're seeing it live at the theatre. You know what I mean? Still, thank you for watching and for your positive commments!
