  • Got to say, all of the recordings in this series are just fantastic.

The men in the chorus are dressed quite dapper. Not the usual boring tux/dinner suit, and the ladies ! Quite a few sharp Aunties in there amongst them. Almost makes me want to get back into a choir.

As allways, well done and thankyou for this, just got in from work on another hot Melbourne day and relaxing enjoying beautifull music.

  • Lucky you that you got a hot Mebourne day. Here it's extreemely cold (-4°C) and foggy.... :-(((

  • In general I agree with you. I have many recordings, CD, video performance of Händel's Messiah but I think that the very best one is really this one performed by this cast

  • A delighful voice interpreting this lovely aria. The conductor seems to have had a good time and his enthusiasm has been passed over to the musicians and to the chorus !!!

A very satisfying rendition of this masterpiece..

  • I have been sitting here all day listening to Handels Messias from carosazone. It is just great

and I feel my life is completed in this music. It holds the future, - and Israel will be safe in the

middle of its enemies. The Lion of Juda will return. Amen forever and ever.

  • I felt like clapping . I absolutely adore the conductor, having a good time doing what he loves. His enthusiasm is infectious

  • superb - what a voice! amazing..

  • A wonderful series...Thank you Carosaxone for posting..Art in all it's forms is infinite and speaks directly to one's soul ...Why would anyone want to control access to something like that?

  • Arise!.....

  • Quelle merveilleuse voix ! Au timbre tout en rondeur, comme un velours sombre. Je ne me lasse pas de l'écouter. Bravo à Alexandra Sherman et merci à caraxone

  • The best version I've ever heard is with Karl Richter:

Soprano: Helen Donath; Contralto: Anna Reynolds, Tenor: Stuart Burrows; Donald McIntyre: Bass.

Messiah itself is a wonder with not equal...

  • Thankyou SO much for this clip. I have seen it before and was so impressed with Ms Sherman's voice, I just had to view it again. She surely has a very bright future - and I wish her all the very best. I own a number of different CDs of the Messiah, but Ms Sherman's version of 'Thou that tellest good tidings to Zion' wins hands down. Beautiful voice! Bravo!!
