Dr. Jeffrey Dick, Chair of Geological & Environmental Sciences, YSU, at YOUNG 2011

Dr. Jeffrey Dick, Chair of Youngstown State University's Geological & Environmental Sciences, spoke during the public session at the YOUNG 2011 Conference & Expo was held in Youngstown, Ohio, Nov. 30, 2011. During his presentation, "Fracking: Fact vs. Fiction," Dr. Dick addressed the environmental concerns associated with fracking.

The YOUNG 2011 Conference and Expo — the first Utica shale play conference in the state of Ohio — was a dedicated B2B conference in which national and local companies exhibited their products and interacted with key players in the burgeoning Utica and Marcellus supply chain. Held in Youngstown, Ohio, the conference's public sessions provided educational opportunities for the community and other key stakeholders to learn about how this industry will contribute to growing the wealth of the region's economy. The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, the presenter of YOUNG, is currently planning YOUNG 2012.
