Cool vid. The first 5 years of my motorcycling life were spent on dirt bikes, but venturing off the pavement with a heavy street machine is a whole other kettle of fish. Not too bad really, until it gets soft, and or, muddy. Good for you for giving it a go. Not many street riders would have! :)

Yeah, it was fine until it got soft. I figure it's a good idea to get a little bit of practice in controlled circumstances riding on less than ideal surfaces on a street bike. That way you won't be learning how your bike handles off-road for the first time should you have to in an emergency.

Heh, I'm guessing this was done Tuesday. I broke down that day on my CBR1000f. HOT AS HELL! Unfortunately I suddenly lost power and it no longer ran, had to walk 8 miles total on GA-212/138 to a gas station. and I too can atest to the bike's heaviness (found out I made that trip for nothing). If it's on it's side, you CANNOT pick it up yourself or you will break something. It was my first time riding out of the neighborhood and I broke down 10 miles from home.....

Nah, it was a Wednesday, somewhere in Alabama. What happened to your bike? And you can pick it up on your own, it's just a matter of getting the proper amount of adrenaline into your system followed by the proper amount of vitamin I (Ibuprofen).

gps's are crazy sometimes. I told it to take the fastest way to a recent destination, it took me through a cemetery, but I guess it was the fastest way.

Yeah, the funny thing is that the previous two legs of the trip it kept telling me that my route would take me through dirt but it never did, but then for this section it didn't say anything about any dirt roads. I'm still getting used to the GPS. I actually have it mounted now.
